Overview
This product was designed for a world-leading bathroom brand from America, and we worked with their Shanghai team. This product was targeted and designed for Hong Kong markets, where their residential space are smaller and smaller and the bathroom is mostly without windows. Based on the objectives and features they set, we proposed several aesthetic and IoT application concepts to meet their vision and also provided design solutions considering mass production and assembly.

- Propose the product design concepts ( Ideation, Sketching, 3D modeling, Rendering )
- Provide new IoT application concept
- Assist in communicating with the brand's modeling supplier in China for product prototyping
- Co-work with the brand's internal design team

Results:
- The brand's internal team was satisfied with my proposal after I made a working prototype and showed them a feasible solution that enhanced the aesthetics when the air vent was open and closed. This proposal was eventually adopted for the final product.
- This final product design won the iF Design Award and Good Design Award.

This hybrid device is a heater and an air purifier. It is designed with a glass surface, flush with the ceiling, and matches the bathroom interior. It also provides optimal lighting at different times the time of day. Enabled with intelligent technology, it takes the bathroom experience to a new level.

We explored the possibility of shape, vent configuration, glowing effects, control interface, and structural optimization through sketches, 3D modeling, and prototyping.

To make the product completely flush with the ceiling, the rotating structure of the fan blade is improved so that the fan blade can be completely stowed in the product when it is fully open, achieving a minimalist effect.

IoT application concept
IoT application concept
The device can record and analyze the frequency and time of using the bathroom, reducing unnecessary preheating time to save energy. In addition, combined with the infrared sensor, when the user leaves the bathroom is automatically dehumidified. In addition, when the dehumidification process has been completed, it can notify the user.
